Biography

Born in İzmir, Begüm Doğulu is a Turkish entrepreneur and one of the leading figures in the country’s yachting industry. After completing her studies in tourism, she began her career managing a yacht agency in Kuşadası in 1989. In 1997, with a modest initial investment of just $2,000, she founded Begüm Yachting, which has since grown into one of Turkey’s most prominent yacht agencies.

Today, Begüm Yachting operates offices in Istanbul, Bodrum, Marmaris, Göcek, Didim, and Antalya, offering comprehensive services including mega yacht agency operations, maintenance, refit, and hospitality. The company also established its own shipyard, Barka Shipyard, in Bodrum, further expanding its capabilities in the industry.

Doğulu has held various leadership positions within maritime organizations, including the Chamber of Shipping and the Yacht & Ship Agents Council, and has served as President of the Yacht Tourism Association. Under her leadership, Begüm Yachting became the official distributor of Mercedes-Benz Motor Yachts in Turkey, further strengthening the company’s position in the luxury yachting sector.
